A 30 minute documentary film that features the impact and challenges of the international palliative care twinning project – Partners in Compassion.

Twinning is a collaboration between two different communities to achieve mutual benefits through a common vision.  In recent years, twinning has been adopted within palliative care to share knowledge and skills in order to positively shape the quality of end-of-life care in the world.  Partners in Compassion is a pilot project between the Nanaimo hospice community in Canada and the Bhaktapur palliative care community in Nepal.  The objective of this qualitative research study & film is to explore and raise awareness of the impact of this partnership on both participating communities and describe the barriers to good palliative care practices in Nepal.

Had the opportunity to document the ongoing collaboration between the Nanaimo Community Hospice Society and the Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital.  So much need, and yet so much beauty.  Technology has brought us closer together, but the difference in the quality of medical care reminds me that we are still worlds apart… Often we go hoping to change lives, and find our own lives changed in the process. – Rich
